Joshua Mercer

A product of Chicago’s South Side, Joshua Mercer graduated from Howard University (BBA, Marketing) in 2003. Shortly after graduating from Howard, Joshua earned his Master’s degree (Elementary Education; 2006) from National Louis and then went on to become an award winning entrepreneurship teacher.

In 2009, Joshua founded Swish Dreams Sports & Educational Foundation, whose mission is to use sports as a vehicle to teach youth literacy and leadership. Since inception, Swish Dreams has served over 1,000 children.

Later in early 2010, Joshua founded the MOVEMAKERS, a marketing and event promotions company which hosts a combined 10 events annually in both Chicago and DC. Most notably the HU Bar Crawl, which is the largest black bar crawl in the world with over 2,500 attendees annually.

In 2012, Joshua transitioned from Chicago Public Schools and purchased two insurance agencies to form the Joshua Mercer Insurance Agency, an Allstate Agency, that specializes in sell and service of property, auto, business and life insurance as well as financial services. Today the Mercer Agency serves almost 4,000 customers in the Chicagoland area.

In 2021, Joshua became a licensed realtor and formed Mercer Capital LLC, a real estate holding company with over $1m in assets. In 2023 Joshua brokered the sale of a 25-home portfolio. Today Joshua owns over 135 units, which include a hotel.

In 2022, Joshua opened HUE Chicago, a luxury lounge and entertainment venue located in Chicago’s South Loop.

Joshua is a member of 100 Black Men, The Chicago Druids, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated, and the 95th Street Business Association. In his spare time, Joshua enjoys sporting activities, dining out, and spending time with his beautiful wife Kenya and two children, Charli (girl; 7) and Joshua (boy; 9).

Mr. Thompson has more than two decades of business experience, approximately 18 years of sales and leadership experience, 13 years of professional coaching and training experience and since 2019, is culminating his career in the financial services industry.

Mr. Thompson received his Bachelor’s degree from Chicago State University, he is also a graduate of the Joseph Business School. Mr. Thompson received his Life Coaching certification from the Youth and Family Guidance Institute. He has served as an entrepreneurial instructor with the City Colleges of Chicago and has written several books and publications.

Mr. Thompson is a United States Marine Corps veteran. He is married to Antoinette and has one daughter Malaika.

Mensah K. McCadd is a husband of 21 years and father of three children (ages 18, 15, 12). He is also a graduate of the 2002 Joseph School of Business & Entrepreneurship and Livingword School of Ministry (2011). He is also a Licensed Real Estate Broker with eXp Realty, a member of the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors for 20+ years, Licensed General Contractor, Builder, Expert Real Estate Developer, Landlord and a Former State Farm Agent.
